What must I pay for the Soul Center NPC application, and how must I pay it? #
The amount confirmed when you start the current application is the controlling amount for that application.
On 31 August 2026, the portal displayed:
- R50 for CIPC name reservation;
- R125 for CIPC NPC registration;
- R0 Start My Company service fee; and
- R175 confirmed total.
These are volatile figures. Read the amounts shown in Step 8 and do not rely on an old screenshot or article.
Who receives the payment? #
The current application instructs the applicant to pay the official amount directly to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). CIPC is the South African public authority that processes the company registration.
The displayed R0 Start My Company service fee is separate from the official CIPC charges.
Which payment details must I use? #
Use only the banking instructions and unique payment reference shown in your own Step 8. Copy the reference exactly.
Do not use a reference copied from another applicant, an example, this article or a screenshot. A wrong reference can prevent the payment from being matched.
What proof is required? #
Upload clear proof of the completed payment in Step 8. The application cannot be finally submitted without it.
Do not include card numbers, PINs, passwords or one-time passwords. Start My Company does not need them.
If the displayed amount, recipient or reference is unclear, do not guess. Use Start My Company Support before paying.
